Sliced Bread

from Fried Okra by Adam Thorton

/

lyrics

I've been jackin' off about the same things for fifteen years
My little life feels like it's getting old and shrinking
Things I used to recall with ease
I now only recall recalling with ease
I'm starting to lose touch with everything tactile
About many experiences
Now it surprises me sometimes to remember what I used to recall

Everyone I knew and know is still there
But quite a few of them are now losing some hair

How long before it reaches their brains
And mother nature takes control of the reins?

Who is alive now only in my small head
Like every old bedroom and every old bed?

Standing still doesn't stop the mins or the secs
In that way, time is like a T-rex
But here I am rigid in my ice age of doubt
Not knowing if I'll ever figure anything out

Hoping a turn of the page might reveal one that I've already read.
The book is still in its order
Nothing redundant
Sliced bread
Sliced bread

Woah.
